New to Rowing?

We want to make it as easy as possible for you to enjoy the sport of rowing and to be a part of the Leander Boat Club Community. The sport of rowing builds physical fitness, team play, and provides a great opportunity to meet others. We provided the overview below to help you get started in the sport of rowing at Leander.

Learn to Row Development Pathway

Youth Ages 11-17

Learn to Row Program

Join our Learn to Row Youth Program, and after a one-week session those new to rowing will have the basic skills needed to start rowing on the water.

Bantam Rowing Program

After successfully completing our Learn to Row Youth Program, build on what you learned by joining our Bantam Recreational Rowing Program. Its an ideal way to practice rowing and to build your rowing skills on the water.

Junior Competitive Rowing Programs

Once you have developed your rowing, if you are looking for opportunities to compete against other rowers, you can join one of our Junior Competitive Rowing Program. This is a great opportunity to work with our coaches and compete at regattas all over Ontario.

Adults 18 and Over

Learn to Row Program

Join our Learn to Row Adult Program, and after a one week session those new to rowing will have the basic skills needed to start rowing on the water. Plus, it’s a great stress reliver after work!

Learn to Row

Adult Recreational Rowing Program

After successfully completing our Learn to Row Adult Program, build on what you learned by joining our Adult Recreational Rowing Program. Its a flexible and ideal way to practice rowing, to build your rowing skills, and to learn how to row in a team environment.

Adult Competitive Rowing Programs

Once you have developed your rowing skills, if you are looking for opportunities to compete against other rowers, you can join our Senior Competitive Rowing Program or Masters Competitive Rowing Program. This is a great opportunity to work with our coaches and compete at regattas all over Ontario, Canada, and the United States.
