Junior Competitive Rowing Programs

The Junior Competitive Rowing Program at Leander Boat Club includes two age categories.

  • Junior A is for any athlete 18 years of age or younger on December 31st of the current calendar year.
  • Junior B is for any athlete 16 years of age or younger on December 31st of the current calendar year.

Our Junior Competitive Rowing Program teaches athletes how to train effectively, helps them develop solid technical rowing skills, and teaches the discipline needed to compete and win rowing races. The ultimate goal of our program is to help crews develop to win at the Royal Canadian Henley, teaches athletes to meet the provincial carding standards, and propel athletes towards competitive university rowing and the Canadian National Team.

We focus our program on racing opportunities in southern Ontario, including the Central Ontario Rowing Association circuit, as well as provincial rowing championships, and the Henley. We also facilitate opportunities for crews meeting performance standards to participate in further regattas, including U.S. Elite Nationals, the Independence Day Regatta (Philadelphia), the Royal Henley (London, England), the National Rowing Championships, and more…
